“JANYM” Social Association with the support of “ZHANARTU” Charity Foundation took the initiative to organise “Power Camp” – the unique sports camp for young men in Almaty city.
From 18 to 25 August, “Power Camp” -the unique sports camp for boys aged 11 to 16 took place on the basis of one of the recreation areas of Almaty city.
About 30 teenage young men were selected based on an essay-motivation assessment on the topic “Why do I want to work out my aggression?”. The works were evaluated by a jury of founders and psychologists of “JANYM” portal, which provides free psychological support to children and teenagers of Kazakhstan. A large number of applications were received from teenagers with difficulties in overcoming destructive emotions.
The aim of this charitable project is to provide essential support and assistance to young men as they grow, overcome life’s difficulties and find constructive ways to solve their problems effectively.
Alan Aliyev was the ideological inspirer and leader of the project. “Such sports camps provide not only an opportunity for a variety of active recreation, but also help develop skills in communication, conflict resolution, and managing one’s emotions” – highlighted Alan.
Young people were provided with 5 meals a day as part of “Power Camp”; they took part in physical and psychological development activities throughout the week. Every day the participants had an active programme including sports competitions, trainings aimed at strengthening mental health, hiking and outdoor games, swimming pool, football, evening discos and movie nights. All training and sporting events were conducted by experienced coaches and qualified psychologists.
Coaches of “Power Camp” note that by playing and competing, many participants have made friends with each other. We hope that participation in this project will be the beginning of more than one story of true friendship among the guys.
All young men were presented with souvenirs and gifts from the organisers at the end of the camp. In turn, the participants of “Power Camp” thanked the organisers, all sports coaches and psychologists for the organisation of the unique camp.
