Dinmukhammet Zholdybay, the lucky scholar of the “Nurali Aliyev Bachelor of Information Systems in Business” undergraduate program (hereinafter – BISB) at KIMEP University. Our student will share why he chose KIMEP and BISB, and will also tell us his simple secret of success.
Dinmukhammet Zholdybay: “Good IT-specialist is a cool mathematician. And I am not the exception. The basics of mathematics helped me to achieve a lot in the world of information technologies.
Everything started with school Olympiads and ended with a championship in Bulgaria, where I took the grand-prize. I had been thinking what I would become if I continue studying math… This led me to computer science classes in 7th grade. Since then, I was ready to study computer science all day long. It was so exciting that I didn’t even notice how I learned to speak several languages. These were not simple languages, but programming languages. I joined the Robotics Club, where I studied the hardware of the technology. After that, my vision of the world has completely changed. I began to look at the world with ones and zeros. It was a wonderful feeling when you understand the way everything works in your environment.
After I gained enough knowledge, I began to create my own. Imagine a little boy who sees a huge castle with only one glance at the Lego blocks. I was the same. I understood that I can create everything. The projects were different, from small programs to flying drones. But there was an issue.
During one of the competitions, my partner and I understood one thing: the reality is that the project needs money. And no one will give us money for the development of the project for no reason. We were puzzled by the progress of the project. I realized that I had missed a very important point: you still need to be able to sell your project.
The time has come to choose the university. I had a choice: either to join KBTU, where I would strengthen my technical skills or to enroll in BISB at KIMEP, where I could gain knowledge on project management. Without thinking for a long time, I decided that the second option suits me better. Moreover, I had enough technical knowledge, which I studied for five years continuously. Proof of this – prizes and awards at various Olympiads and competitions.
I am grateful to the KIMEP University for creating such a large base of experienced teachers with various theoretical and practical experiences. Frankly saying, their fascinating lectures can be heard for hours! I am grateful to the ZHANARTU charity foundation for providing me the opportunity to gain knowledge from these professors.
What do I do today besides my studies? I manage the project at HalykBank, working on my projects, which I hope will soon surprise everyone. And I’m on my way to complete the undergraduate program within 2 years only. I believe I will succeed in that!
Like any other, I also had setbacks, but I’m glad that everything turned out that way, because every time I take up work on IT-project, feeling of happiness fills me fully. I did not have this feeling even when I won the International Mathematics Olympiad. Therefore, I want to wish each reader to do what you enjoy. In my opinion, this is the simple secret of success. “
