On February 11, the International day of women and girls in science, our charity foundation dedicates this material to one of the KIMEP University scholars of the “Nurali Aliyev Information systems in business” bachelor program at KIMEP University (hereinafter-BISB). Mrs.Danagul Zholdangar, one of the brave girls among BISB students, tells her story about how her faith in fate, her confidence and passion to information technologies help her to balance successfully between her studies, presidency in a student organization, games for the KIMEP University volleyball team, work as a Residential Assistant, and participation in various projects and business competitions.
Danagul Zholdangar: Do you believe in stars and horoscopes? I started my motivation letter right from that question to submit my documents for a scholarship from ZHANARTU charity foundation and KIMEP University. While living in Zerenda village, I dreamed to enter a bachelor program “Information Systems in Business” at KIMEP University.
I believe that a person’s fate depends on his/her aspirations, positive power of thought, and on a piece of luck that stars give for us. Do you want to know what has changed from this after my admission to the university?
When I studied at school, in an ordinary village, I have realized that innovative technologies need to be studied and be popularized among school students. I believe that there are so many talents in Kazakhstan, who can contribute globally in the IT-sphere. That is why, I was incredibly glad when I was officially awarded the scholarship for “Information Systems in Business” program. This became an opportunity for me to make my own contribution for the IT-sphere. During my current study at KIMEP, I did not change my faith in my luck and met wonderful people, professors and colleagues.
In the first year of study, I managed to become part of the Residential Assistants team and an employee of the KIMEP University Housing Department. Even though this work is not directly related to information systems, but it includes a duty of working with data, which allows me to practice my knowledge. Therefore, now my colleagues easily asking me about any of their tech-problems with the words “you are our dear hacker, arent’ you?”
Also during the study, I became a president of “KIMEP Campit” organization. We conquer mountain’s peaks and explore beautiful places of Kazakhstan, as well as do various sports. It turned out that my favorite sport is snowboarding, but I also do not change my passion to the volleyball, which I am playing since high school. Now I am playing for the KIMEP university volleyball team. Exploring the country is not limited only by landscapes. During my mid-term breaks, I try to visit my parents in Nur-Sultan city or stay in Almaty for self-study and explore the south capital. This helps me to discover the ways of how information systems and technologies can be useful in improving the infrastructure of the cities.
My profession became useful to me during my participation in the ENACTUS championship, in which my teammates and I were able solve a case using our knowledge about the Big Data. The combination of all of these life cases, gave me an exact understanding that the profession I have chosen can be highly demanded in various spheres.
I am grateful to our ZHANARTU foundation for this opportunity. I believe that now I am able to find a way to realize my goals and improve myself. I am confidently stepping into the future and I am as always open to the new discoveries and surprises of destiny. I believe that someday I will also be able to do good and useful deeds, like our ZHANARTU foundation. For myself, I realized that the ZHANARTU was the gift of the stars. It gives an accurate understanding that any luck will be a great success, if you apply your efforts, strengths and sincere aspirations.
