Abylaykhan Ashim, our scholar for the program “Nurali Aliyev Bachelor of Information Systems in Business” (hereinafter – BISB) at KIMEP University, became the first student to pass the internship in the leading partner of our foundation – “Transtelecom” JSC. Abylaykhan shared his love story with the Internet and technology. You will learn about how a talented IT-person managed to study at school, play the piano, engage in ballroom dancing and play football, while remaining an excellent son and loving brother.
Abylaykhan Ashim: “I was born in Kyzylorda city, and now I am a student with GPA 4+ in a very promising, in my opinion, KIMEP University. This is the information that is not difficult to find on the Internet. However, how did I get here, what am I doing here, and finally, why are you reading about me on the ZHANARTU foundation page?” You can learn about this below.
My IT-path in Almaty began from the YouTube boom, when, as a 12-year-old schoolboy, I decided to create my own channel. Today it is a tool for earning money, but that time it seemed to me as an interesting platform for experimentation. The storyline is certainly interesting: a 6th grade school student run home from school and set down to record instructional videos for the channel. These videos were quite popular among my audience. After all, 60 000 views in a training video about Minecraft in 2012 was a promising perspective.
My next successful experience in the network happened a few years later, when I was 15. Being an ambitious young teenager, I decided that I had excellent musical taste. I opened private VKontakte community, where I shared my favorite music. The main difference between my community and thousands of such “publics” was high quality music in containers WAV, AIFF and FLAC. I registered to the private music tracker on the whitet, in which the most common accounts were sold from 500 USD. The content there was always original and up-to-date, so registering there was not so easy. The interview took place online in English, where they asked a lot of theory, but finally I got an account. Was all this done to earn those 500 USD? Of course not. I was driven by a desire to help other people in listening high quality music. Finally, I managed to create a closed private community with 500 active participants in no more than a month. And the first fruits of my work were received when adult administrators of different music groups with a 100 000 people strong audience began to borrow content from a small group led by a 15-year-old enthusiast from Kyzylorda.
I think now it’s easy for you to imagine my passion for the Internet and opportunities that it offers. Above all, I was always on the move. There is no such day that I can afford myself to sleep until 9 in the morning. My little brother woke me up and I went to classical dance classes, followed by a piano lesson, a critically short lunch break and classes at school, after which I run into the yard to play football. Such dynamic schedule might seem crazy for some teenagers. For me, personally, this has already become an incentive to continue moving and for all this I am grateful, first of all, to my family.
Today I have the honor of being a ZHANARTU scholar. My dream to get an education in the field of information systems and business is now come true due to the generous educational grants given by ZHANARTU charity foundation. I am happy to accept this opportunity to obtain necessary skills that will serve Kazakhstan society in the future.
Recently, I successfully passed my first internship in the Almaty branch of Transtelecom JSC. This is one of the largest communication operators in Kazakhstan in the field of IT, telecommunications, automation and energy. Moreover, this internship has given me new networks, experience and opportunity to apply my theoretical skills in practice. In the time of the intersection of innovative technologies, the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge became a requirement. Therefore, I believe that nowadays my specialty “Information Systems in Business” is not only unique, but also the most interesting solution on the local educational market.
Once again, taking this opportunity, I want to thank ZHANARTU Charity Foundation and its founder Mr. Nurali Aliyev for their support and opportunity to study at KIMEP University, the country’s best humanitarian and economic university, and remain as a good son and brother for my family”.
